The security staff of Turkish Presidency and Prime Ministry visiting our MIT LAB under the project TR10/15/YNK/0056 entitled "SMART MATERIALS: Multicultural Research, Innovation and Application Platform" carried out by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of our university and supported by Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA) showed particular attention ALPO2 composite glass developed under this project and noted that they would like to use it for different purposes.
For this purpose, several test fires were performed on ALPO1-ALPO2 composite boards with the guns they brought. The composite were found to be highly efficient and taken to Ankara to be further inspected by the authorities.
