The Psychological Counselling Service is a unit within the Doğuş University Student Psychological Counselling Service where students can seek psychological support whenever they need it throughout their university life.
The Aim of the Psychological Counselling Service
The aim of the Doğuş University Psychological Counselling Service is to provide professional support to help Doğuş University students adapt to university life, to support their individual, social and academic development throughout their time at university, to equip them with skills to cope with problems, and to contribute to their personal development and help them find solutions to everyday life issues by raising their self-awareness.
The psychological counselling process is entirely voluntary, and the principle of confidentiality is of paramount importance throughout this process.

Our Psychological Counselling Service is available to Doğuş University students, as well as administrative and academic staff.

Psychological Counselling Service Preventive Initiatives
As part of our preventive initiatives, our counselling service organises various development seminars throughout the year to support students’ personal and academic development, and administers tests to students at specific intervals.
Psychological Counselling Service Group Work and Workshops
Group sessions and workshops are organised for students with similar characteristics, addressing their primary needs and issues.
Group sessions and workshops are led by professionals in the field and a psychologist from the Psychological Counselling Service.

How to apply to the Psychological Counselling Service?
Students wishing to receive support must either email the counselling service’s address or visit the office during office hours (09:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00) to complete an ‘information form’ and collect an ‘appointment card’.
Once this form has been completed, students will be given a session appointment for a suitable day. If it is necessary to cancel or reschedule an appointment for a valid reason, you are expected to notify us via email at least 24 hours in advance.
A psychological counselling session is a professional consultation aimed at identifying the individual’s issue, gathering information, and determining the course of the sessions. Students may be referred to various services such as group work, workshops, long-term psychotherapy, or a consultation with a psychiatrist, depending on their needs.
For students to benefit from our services, it is important that they are willing to seek help and participate actively and regularly in the support process.

How Long Do Individual Counselling Sessions Last?
Sessions typically last between 40 and 50 minutes, depending on the nature of the issue and the course of the session.
