Sports Teams

Doğuş University offers a wide range of sports facilities. With eighteen sports teams currently in place, new teams are established in line with student demand and as required, and opportunities are provided for them to compete in inter-university championships.

Tryouts for sports teams take place during the second week of the start of each academic year. Students participating in these tryouts, conducted by our expert coaches and trainers, are directed to the relevant disciplines based on their abilities.

Doğuş University Sports Teams:

• Sailing Team

The Doğuş University Sailing Team was established in 2014.

Led by our student Yusuf Tunç, our sailing team has earned a well-known and respected place within the national sailing community and the university sailing scene.

Our sailing team regularly participates in inter-university sailing competitions such as the Campuscup, organised by the Marmaris International Yacht Club; the Universail and Jimmy Key Cup, organised by the Urla Sailing Club; as well as competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation and the Istanbul Sailing Club.

• Snowboard & Ski Teams
• Our Men’s Snowboard Team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation Competitions, KoçSporfest Competitions and Ünilig, earned the 3rd Place Trophy among Istanbul universities at KoçSporfest 2019 thanks to the rankings achieved in the Snowboard Small Slalom and Snowboard Giant Slalom in 2019.
• Basketball Team
• (2023–2024) Our team won the championship in the Promotion League to the Super League, organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Diyarbakır, and was promoted to the Super League.
• (2023–2024) In the 1st Division Basketball Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Istanbul, our basketball team became the Istanbul champion.
• Our basketball team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s Istanbul 1st Division and University Leagues, won the runners-up trophy in the Istanbul Basketball 2nd Division in 2018 and was promoted to the 1st Division. Our team continues to compete in the 1st Division.
• 3x3 Basketball Team
• (2022–2023) In the 3x3 Basketball Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation on 28–29 April 2023, hosted by Istanbul Technical University, our team finished third in Istanbul.
• Our team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s 3x3 Basketball League, finished as runners-up in Turkey in 2018. The Doğuş University 3x3 Basketball Team is continuing its preparations at full speed to represent our country at the European Championship to be held in Porto, Portugal, in 2019.
• Dance Team
• Our team, which participated in and hosted the 10th Dance Marathon Competition organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation, finished as runners-up in Turkey in 2018.
• Our dancer, Mahir Karaca, was selected as the best male dancer and won a gold medal.
• Volleyball Team
• (2024–2025) In the Promotion League to the Super League organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Antalya, our team finished third and was promoted to the Super League.
• (2024–2025) In the Men’s Volleyball First Division Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Istanbul, our men’s volleyball team finished second.
• (2024–2025) Our women’s volleyball team finished fourth in the Super League Volleyball Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Eskişehir.
• (2023–2024) Our women’s volleyball team finished fourth at the Summer Sports Games organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Ankara.
• Our volleyball team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s Istanbul 1st League and University Leagues, was promoted to the 1st League in 2018 after winning the Istanbul Volleyball 2nd League. Our team continues to compete in the 1st League.
• Beach Volleyball Team
• Our women’s beach volleyball team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s National Championship, reached the semi-finals in 2018 and finished the championship in fourth place.
• Chess Team
• Our Chess Team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation Championship, secured 3rd place at the board in 2018, and our athlete Özgün Şahin won a gold medal for this achievement.
• Table Tennis Team
• The team competes in the Turkish University Sports Federation Championship and the University Leagues.
• Football Team

• (2023–2024) Our football team finished third in the First Division Football Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Istanbul.
• Our Football Team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s Istanbul First Division, secured the Third Place trophy in the Istanbul Football Second Division in 2018, thereby gaining promotion to the First Division. Our team continues to compete successfully in the First Division.
• Indoor Football Team
• (2023–2024) In the 1st Division Indoor Football Competitions organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Istanbul, our indoor football team finished as runners-up in the 1st Division.
• Our team, competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation’s Istanbul Second Division, was crowned champions of the Second Division in 2019 and was promoted to the First Division.
• Football Tennis Team
• The team competes in the Turkish University Sports Federation National Championship.
• Beach Football Team
• Competes in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Beach Football League.
• Muay Thai Team
• Our athlete Rıdvan Mert Aydoğan, who competed in the 2019 Turkish University Sports Federation Muya Thai Championship, won the gold medal as champion in the 71 kg Elite Division.
• Swimming Team
• Competing in the Turkish University Sports Federation Turkey Swimming Championship
• Kickboxing Team
• (2024–2025) Reached the quarter-finals in the individual category at the Turkey Boxing Championship organised by the Turkish University Sports Federation in Bayburt on 21 May 2025.
• The team competes in the Turkish University Sports Federation Kickboxing Championship.
• Athletics Team
• The team is competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m races and the shot put at the Turkish University Sports Federation Turkish Athletics Championships.

• Esports: 3rd place in the Turkish University Sports Federation VALORANT Tournament
• Swimming: 4th place in the 400-metre medley category at the Inter-University Turkey Championships
• 3x3 Street Basketball: Pin X Dekk Inter-University Champion
• Ünilig Men’s Football 1st Division: 3rd in Istanbul
• Ünilig Women’s Volleyball Team: 1st place in the Afyon Super League Promotion Play-offs with four wins out of four. Will compete in the Super League in the 2022–2023 season
• Inter-University Women’s Tennis Team – 4th in Turkey
• Turkey Alpine Skiing: 2nd in Turkey
• 3rd place in the Istanbul Big Slalom category Sailing Team: 2nd place in the Jimmy Key-Universail Sailing Yacht Race
• Sailing Team: 3rd place in the Marmaris Nurolbank Campus Cup Inter-University Yacht Race
• The 3x3 Basketball Team finished second in the Ünilig and qualified for the European Championship
